A Life Well Sailed 

He answered when his country called,
And served with courage, strength, and pride.
A steady hand, a loyal heart,
One who stood firm through every tide.

He found his peace upon the water,
Where wind and waves became his friend.
The sea would carry both his worries
And his dreams beyond the bend.

He had a soft spot for his cats,
Those faithful companions by his side.
In quiet moments, they brought comfort,
Their gentle presence a source of pride.

But above all else, one truth remained,
The anchor of his heart and soul.
Liz, his wife, his dearest friend,
The one who made his life feel whole.

Through every season, joy and challenge,
Through calmest seas and storms above,
They journeyed hand in hand together,
Bound by friendship, trust, and love.

Though now his voyage takes him onward,
Beyond the horizon we can see,
The wake he leaves upon our lives
Will sail through memory endlessly.
