Into the earth from which all treasure comes, we now commit this rugged soul Val.

May the maker of mountains and rivers receive him with mercy and peace.

He who laboured under open skies, who knew hardship, endurance, and honest toil, now lays down his tools and finds his rest.

May the dust of the goldfields settle gently upon him.

May the campfires of memory burn warmly in those he leaves behind.
And may those who walked beside him carry forward his strength, courage, and stubborn hope.

Ashes to ashes, dust to dust

Yet a life forged in grit and loyalty shines brighter than gold and lasts far longer.

Go now in peace, and may eternal light guide you home.
